When I was in the CD that came with the USB wireless device, said you must have Windows XP ... Does this mean I can not work with Windows Vista? Something that can be downloaded, if it works?

Vista has a long history of driver problems. Many devices that do not work with XP work with Vista. You can check the Netgear website to see if they have an updated driver. Otherwise, you must purchase a new dongle
I have the XP driver under Windows Vista with some success, but not all devices. Use a search engine to find the device with "Vista" in the search term and you can find someone who has succeeded, or if it is impossible.
